This “Perfect” Shoe Rack Solves One of My Biggest Problems (I’m Buying Two!)
My love for shoes knows no bounds — even the limits of my apartment’s narrow entryway and single closet. Considering that I’ve been living in cramped studio apartments for about half a decade, I’ve built up a collection that’s far larger than it should be. From back-of-the-door organizers to a narrow cabinet, I’ve added nearly every storage solution in the book to my small space to accommodate it, and my shoes are still overflowing. (It’s my New Year’s resolution to donate a good portion of them. We’ll see if that actually happens.)
It doesn’t help matters that I have a huge number of boots to weather the cold Northeastern winters. As tall as they are, boots are by far the trickiest kind of shoes to store. They don’t fit on my regular two-tier shoe rack, nor in my cabinet.
Notice, however, that I said I’ve tried nearly every shoe organizing hack out there. I haven’t snagged an adjustable shoe rack yet, which is the clever solution to my boot problem that I’ve been in dire need of. Editor-favorite brand Joseph Joseph has the “perfect” option, according to shoppers who are buying it in multiples. And it’s on sale right now!
What is the Joseph Joseph Level Adjustable Shoe Rack?
This shoe rack is leagues above others because of its customizability. Whereas most racks either have immovable shelves or an expandable width at most, this option has nine shoe slots that you can change the size of. Overall, with the top level included, you can store up to 12 pairs of shoes of various sizes, from flats to boots. How does it work, exactly? The solid shelves clip onto the steel frame, and you can easily pop them off and attach them to a different rod on the frame.
The end result is an extremely useful, minimalist-looking shoe rack that’ll blend into the wall with its slim profile. Its size is 20 inches tall and just under 14 inches deep and 30 inches wide, so make sure to take your space’s measurements. If you don’t place it inside of a closet, you can slide it into an empty gap in your entryway — it’s certainly pretty enough to keep out on display. Honestly, I’m tempted to grab two so I can have more efficient shoe storage in both spots. You can even stack two units together!
