Michaels’ Whimsical New $16 Glassware Set Is “So Cute” for Summer

As all small-space dwellers know, it can be tough to strike a balance between style and practicality. That’s why I’m always on the hunt for double-duty decor that specializes in the art of elevating everyday items. In other words, I’m constantly looking for ways to make the mundane just a bit more whimsical.

The best finds, in my opinion, transform oft-overlooked everyday objects into statement pieces or true conversation starters. So while I roamed the aisles at Michaels the other day in search of yarn, this piece caught my eye instead: The craft store is selling the most adorable fish-shaped stackable glassware, just in time for summer!

For just $16.99, this set includes four glasses which, when stacked, take the shape of a fish. It’s obviously adorable, but it’s also helpful for storage purposes. The cups come in three colors — clear, light blue, and dark blue — each inspired by coastal palettes. But I happen to think these aquatic-inspired tumblers would work well in any space for any season. 

Stacked together and styled on a shelf, this set looks like a fun decorative fish figurine; on the table, it looks like an equally adorable mismatched glassware set. This adds some texture and intrigue to the table, helping guests tell their cups apart while also maintaining a cohesive color scheme. I also love that they’re made of glass and not acrylic — honestly, they look far nicer than the $16 price tag would suggest. 

I know I’m not the only one looking to add some fun, whimsical pieces to my space (or to my arsenal for summer hosting). So this new release from Michaels makes so much sense. The brand’s recent collection with Jonathan Adler is full of gems for indoor and outdoor entertaining alike, too. But these little fish from the Ashland line totally stole my heart!
