Tell us a little (or a lot) about your home and the people who live there: Finding a home is San Francisco with a huge garage and yard (at an affordable price) is an almost impossible task. But with patience and determination I eventually found my home! I needed a bigger space and garage to expand my creative business (which I was doing on the side at the time).
About four months ago, I made the scary leap to quit my comfy 9-5 and pursue an art career! My home has so much to do with the success of my art because it allowed me the creative space to expand and try anything that I was inspired by. I also love interior design and making this house a home has been something I have loved to share with my followers on Instagram.
Describe your home’s style in 5 words or less: Minimalist, modern, desert-inspired. I love creating a calming environment in my home.
What is your favorite room and why? Well there is no door between my art room and living room, so I have to say those are my favorite spaces in my home! My art room is simple and efficient while my living room is a calming inspiring space for me. I often take short breaks and relax in my living room while observing my art room and thinking about what I will do next. I am so lucky to be able to create in my home.
What’s the last thing you bought (or found!) for your home? A gorgeous textile rug from Tiera Y Mano. I had the pleasure of meeting the owner at an event recently and couldn’t walk away from this stunning neutral, minimalist wool rug she had on display. I plan to hang it on the wall (since it truly is an art piece) in my art room for inspiration. I also got to learn more about the wonderful women who create the rug by hand!
Any advice for creating a home you love? I believe your home should be a space that you can truly relax and unwind in, a space that is calming and allows you to recharge. This is a big reason why I create art using a calming neutral palette. Another important aspect to this is having a home with as little clutter as possible. I have two huge dogs running around so keeping things simple, clutter-free, and easy to clean is super important. That is why I take a more minimalist approach to my decor. It also allows me to be very thoughtful about my purchases.
