As much as I love investing in a splurge-worthy home essential, finding a wallet-friendly version that can compete with its pricier counterparts is something that brings me just as much — if not more — joy. As a shopping writer for Apartment Therapy (as well as a self-professed home aficionado), I’m always on the hunt for new need-to-know home brands. So when I heard about Nestwell, Bed Bath & Beyond’s new affordable bedding and bath brand, I decided to give it a try. While Nestwell has an impressive bedding selection, it was the $10 Nestwell Hygro Solid Bath Towel that was calling my name. According to the brand, the 100 percent cotton Hygro towel is soft, durable, quick-drying, and gets fluffier after each wash. But could a $10 towel really live up to all of that hype? Spoiler alert: Yes — and then some!

I’ll be honest: When I first received these towels, I was a little skeptical. While I didn’t expect them to be as soft as luxury towels I had tested in the past, the cotton felt rougher than I was expecting. However, knowing the nature of new towels (and the claims that they softened with each wash), I gave them a quick spin in the washer and dryer to see if that would help — and boy, did it! After the first wash, these towels had softened up significantly. So much so, that I had to check the tag to make sure these were the same towels. I was floored.

Now, let’s talk absorbency — perhaps the most important towel criteria. One look at these thick towels and their tight twist construction, and I could tell they would do a great job. In fact, within just a couple of quick passes post-shower, I was completely dry — something I hadn’t experienced since testing out my go-to Riley Home towels. To top that off, these towels also measure a generous 54 x 30 inches, providing ample coverage for an especially speedy dry and making them a set I’m looking forward to using fresh out of the shower.

But perhaps my favorite thing about these towels is their look. Finding cheap towels that don’t look cheap can be hard. But with a stylishly stitched border, these stand tall against pricier picks, making them ones you’ll want to show off in every and any bathroom in your home. Coming in at just $10 per towel and $45 for a 6-piece set, who could say no to a deal like this? If you’re looking for some towels that won’t break the bank or cramp your style, give these Nestwell towels a go. Like me, you may just find yourself falling head over heels for this rookie brand.
