The Cozy Wearable Blanket That’s Getting Me Through the Holiday Season
For the cold months, I can’t ever have too many blankets. Throw blankets, weighted blankets, heated blankets, you name it! I even have more than one that I can wear around the house or throw over myself on a long flight. Blankets aside, there are other forms of cold-weather-appropriate items to help keep you warm in the wintertime. Sunday Citizen’s cozy Nube Pocket Wrap made our list of editor-favorite loungewear, so of course I had to get my hands on one and try it for myself.
To be fair, the Nube Pocket Wrap isn’t technically a blanket, but it sure feels like one! The oversized wrap is made from a soft polyester blend that drapes over you like a snuggly throw. Mine couldn’t have arrived at a more ideal time. I was traveling across the country to a relative’s house for the holidays, and their home is notoriously cold. So cold that I have to coax myself out of the warm bed every morning due to my body rejecting the chill. The thermostat claims it’s 73 degrees, but a huge part of me doubts that.
Rather than walk around wrapped in one of the many fleece blankets that can be found along the Lovesac couch, I get dressed for the day, then throw the Nube Pocket Wrap on top of my outfit. The wrap is stylish, incredibly lightweight, and doesn’t bunch up over long sleeves since the sleeves of the wrap are wide themselves. It’s an ideal layering piece because it’s not thick and bulky, but it still holds in warmth. As I move around in it, the flowy wrap doesn’t get in my way. When I plop down for an afternoon of Netflix, I can settle under it like one of my favorite blankets. It doesn’t go down to my knees, but believe it or not, there are times when I don’t need to be wrapped up like a burrito to be comfortable. (It’s rare, but it happens.)
The Nube Pocket Wrap has deep pockets that are great for holding little necessities, such as your phone, remotes, and cough drops for cold season. Even with nothing at all in the pockets, they’re large enough to keep your hands delightfully warm. I let my mom use the wrap for a few days and she didn’t want to give it back! (She doesn’t know it yet, but she won’t even have to steal mine to get her hands on one of her own. I’ll be gifting them this year!)
The wrap is available in five colors, including a gorgeous River Blue, and retails for $98. I would have turned my nose up at the price if I hadn’t tried it out first, but knowing how soft and luxurious it feels, it’s worth it. If you’re looking for a really great gift for all the homebodies you love, this is it!
