My Favorite Bath Towels Are Now in Bathrobe Form, and It’s the Best of Both Worlds
Bathrobes are a deceivingly challenging item to choose for yourself, especially when shopping online. Sure, it seems like you could pick out anything that looks soft and plush, but what if it doesn’t feel as nice as it appears? It could be stiff, rough, and uncomfortable — or it could be the best thing ever! You don’t really know until you try it on.

Consider this: What if you could grab a robe that’s modeled after your favorite bath towels? A while ago, I reviewed Onsen’s Bath Towel Set and fell in love with the high-quality, incredibly absorbent, and quick-to-dry towels. In fact, I liked them so much I bought a second set, and they’re now my go-to towels — I refuse to shower without a clean one at the ready. When I was offered the opportunity to test out the Onsen Bath Robe, I couldn’t agree fast enough.
The Onsen Bath Robe is an oversized robe that transforms the brand’s exceptional waffle-weave towels into a wearable form. Like the towels, it’s made of Supima cotton that’s extremely breathable and comfortably lightweight. It’s also extra-long-staple cotton so it lasts longer with little to no shedding and comes in a selection of classic neutral colors like grey, white, black, and navy. When I put my robe on for the first time, I liked how easy it was to move around in. Some robes can feel like they limit your range of motion due to thickness or an overwhelming amount of fabric, but that’s not the case for this one. It keeps you warm while still giving you the freedom to move about your daily routine naturally.
Beyond the roominess of the Onsen Bath Robe, it boasts other great features, like a snuggly hood and super absorbency. You can literally hop out of the shower, throw on the robe, and already have a built-in “towel” to dry your hair with. It’s also worth noting that the pockets are nice and deep so nothing falls out if you happen to be lounging around in the robe instead of getting dressed for the day. There’s a belt to close it, but because of the robe’s relaxed fit, it drapes more loosely and may have to be adjusted to keep it shut. It’s not a dealbreaker, but definitely something to be aware of — still, the pros outweigh the cons by far. One BIG plus is that the robe is fast-drying so it doesn’t trap water that leads to a musty smell if left wet for too long.
If you’ve tried and loved Onsen’s bath towels, there’s a good chance that you’ll love their bathrobe as well. If you’ve never tried Onsen’s bath towels, the robe could be a good place to start. It’s the same fabulous features in a new form — I could seriously wear it all day! (Okay, I’ll admit it, I have.)
