1. Slanted Slumber

This cozy bedroom in this Amsterdam home is a fantastic combination of rustic and country chic. The exposed beams coordinate perfectly with the owner’s choice of earth-tone bedding, curtains and throw rug.

2. Adorably Diminutive

Despite its small size, the bedroom in this chic Berlin loft incorporates three popular elements of rustic decor: exposed brick, white-washed wood, and wooden beams. It all works in tandem for a perfectly rustic bedroom.

3. Rustic Yet Elegant

Natural fibers and light wood tones are juxtaposed by a dramatic black accent wall in this bedroom from a beautiful, rustic UK home

4. Plank You Very Much

How cool is this rustic bedroom that blogger Jennifer Griffin designed for her teenage son? The plank walls were actually a DIY using old fence planks, and Jennifer upholstered the headboard herself. The room is filled with plenty of creative, budget-friendly storage solutions, too. Moral of the story here is just one accent wall of wood can really warm up a space, so you don’t have to splurge on paneling for the entire room.

5. Neutral Nook

We love how this primary bedroom incorporates a mix of patterns while still looking cohesive, thanks to its warm neutral palette of creams and browns. And how perfect is that simple wall hanging over the bed? Who says you need a bold piece of artwork above a headboard? Sometimes quiet accessories are the way to go, especially in a bedroom.

6. World of Winter Whites

Freelance interior designer and stylist Kay Prestney’s tonal bedroom is filled with cozy vibes, courtesy of plenty of blankets, textured throw pillows, and homespun linens. Rustic elements like the overhead hanging branch, which takes the place of a statement light fixture, introduce a bit of Scandinavian farmhouse flair.

7. Cabin-Like Vibes

Blogger Ashley Carpenter also constructed DIY plank walls and designed a cabin-like getaway within her own home. Two oversized typographic prints and geometric pillows add a modern touch, while the hanging eucalyptus and small houseplant subtly bring the outdoors inside.

8. Bunked Bliss

Rustic bedrooms seem to be just as popular with the younger set as they are with adults, and we totally understand why after seeing this gorgeous tween room that blogger Jennifer O’Brien designed. Hexagonal wooden shelves, buffalo check pillows, and all of the faux fur makes for a perfect tweenage retreat.

9. Pretty in Pink

This space, belonging to stylist Jo Lemani, is the winter getaway of our dreams! The gorgeous wood beams and low-slung bed make for a super cozy bedroom. Pale pink hues add a little whimsy to the space.

10. Mural Moment

When it comes to putting together a rustic space, bringing the outdoors inside is definitely a key design principle. But this California couple put a unique take on that concept with this DIY mountain mural in varying shades of gray. You could probably complete a feature wall project like this in a weekend’s time, and even though it’s a relatively simple design, the paint makes a big impact. Pair something like this with solid colored bedding and small scale print curtains so it can be the true focal point in your room.

11. Mix-and-Match

It’s more than okay if your rustic room has other aesthetic influences. “I love everything from vintage and modern to farmhouse and boho,” says homeowner Lauren Wilson, who’s serene sleep space is pictured here. “Mixing different patterns, colors, and pieces together is what I love to do.” You can see that’s the case — from the glam quartz wall print to the traditional wood framed upholstered headboard, the magic is in this room’s blend of different textures, patterns, and finishes.

12. Rustic Retreat

This owners of this sunny space certainly understand the importance of treating a ceiling like the fifth wall. Anytime you can add wood paneling overhead, you’ve got the recipe for a striking decorative feature. And contrary to popular belief, darker shades on a ceiling won’t necessarily make a room seem smaller. If you get enough natural light and keep the rest of the room’s finishes bright, you can totally pull this look off.

13. Checks, Please!

There’s something pastoral about gingham, and it really shines on the Euro shams in this eclectic spare bedroom by interior designer Danielle Turek. To keep the look from veering too far into tablecloth territory, Turek artfully layered the checked shams with nubby knit bedding, a small diamond print throw, and a bold lumbar pillow from Anthropolgie that almost steals the show.

14. Rustic Meets Boho Boy’s Room

Instagrammer @inside_no45 designed a stylish room for twin boys using a rustic bedroom vibe. Here, blue throw pillows and a tassle-laden blue blanket at the foot of each bed add some boho-chic elements to what’s otherwise a more traditional space. Rustic touches like wooden initials and a rattan bedside table shine through.

15. Perfect Print

Blogger Aeron Smith Westbrook of The Westbrook Farmhouse incorporated an oversized print that draws eyes upward—although we can’t look away from the stunning headboard, either. If you’re not the taxidermy type, you can definitely get those rustic farmhouse feels with a simple photograph or striking print like this. Artwork is definitely key to this look though, so don’t forget a piece over your headboard.

16. Mad for Plaid

Plaid and checked prints are a rustic bedroom’s best friend. The sweet blanket ladder that Kate Chipinksi used in her space provides storage while adding some charm to the bedroom corner. A no-fail wooden bench simplifies lacing up boots or laying out outfits.

17. Plain and Pretty

Simple furnishings keep this bedroom minimal but welcoming, and the picture ledge is the perfect spot for introducing a little bit of personality with art prints and family photos. Don’t underestimate the rustic charm of a metal bed frame either, especially if you can pair it with honey hued wooden wall panels or furniture for contrast.

18. Shabby Chic Retreat

A white comforter, floral shams, and a romantic candelabra pair nicely with more modern touches, like the industrial sconces and dark nightstand in Deborah Strauss’ modern meets shabby chic bedroom. French-inspired touches create a different type of rustic than what we’re used to seeing in cabins and modern farmhouses. But this room proves that even if your architecture is modern, you can still make a more rustic decorating style work if you want to.

19. Wood and Faux Fur

A wooden pallet accent wall, an oversized faux fur blanket, and a side table made from antlers decorations? Yep, we’re sold and ready to move into this space decorated by @luxury.chalets.collection. It looks like the perfect place to work through our mile-long book club reading list.

20. Double Delight

Twin beds equals twice the fun, right? We loved the symmetrical look in blogger Jess Hupf’s space. Leather pillows look sophisticated paired with black metal bed frames and boho accents, while the wooden walls and bedside table keep the rustic theme alive.

21. Serene Sleep Space

How beautiful is the white bed that Instagrammer Melissa of Favored Farmhouse features in her rustic space? It truly does all of the talking and looks welcoming, too, thanks to all of the darling throw pillows and the checked blanket.

22. Warm and Welcoming

Bring that lovely bed and breakfast feel to your own home like Instagrammer Meagan of The Montana Modern did. Just mix warm and neutral tones and incorporate antique-like accents, such as a small night table or vintage-looking lamp. Try this in a guest room, and your visitors will never want to leave!

23. Sweet Retreat

Florals prints and white plank walls, paired with a mix of wooden and white furniture, makes for a cozy pairing in this space by Instagrammer Kayla of Our Sweet Farmhouse. And the distressed window shutter as wall decor idea is in full effect here, too, but only on a side wall this time.
