Estate sales, yard sales, and antique shops were regular weekend destinations for my brother and me as kids. My parents, always on the hunt for period-appropriate decor for our Staten Island 19th-century house, made sure of it. Since then, I’ve had a love for home design and…read more

Living room with red sofa, patterned rug, leather lounge chair, and large windows with blue trim.

I have a confession: I hate dusting. Living in an apartment, I’m constantly battling what feels like an endless layer of dust. I honestly couldn’t figure out how everything got so dusty, and I had accepted my fate as a forever duster — that is, until the Sans Air Purifier arrived. This sleek, powerful device has changed everything. It’s strong enough to clean the air throughout my whole apartment, and the best part? I’ve noticed I’m dusting less. It’s nothing short of a miracle.

The purifier comes in four colors (including the new Agave and Midnight), which are all on sale right now for $100 off. If you’re looking to clean your home’s air and cut down on dust, read on.

What Is the Sans Air Purifier?

The powerful Sans Air Purifier is surprisingly compact, weighing just 11 pounds and measuring 20×10 inches. It can clean spaces up to 1,854 square feet in an hour (and the smaller Sans Air Purifier Mini can cover 490 square feet). Featuring HEPA filtration, the unit captures particles as small as 0.1 micron in diameter, while a full pound of activated carbon works to absorb odors, gases, chemicals, and VOCs. For added convenience, the purifier has a handle for easy carrying, operates quietly, and includes an internal UV-C light that indicates air quality by changing colors from red (dirty) to blue (clean).

Why I Love the Sans Air Purifier

I was initially doubtful when I heard an air purifier could help with dust. However, after using the Sans Air Purifier for approximately three months, I can confirm the claim is accurate. I run the device for about an hour each morning and evening, and I’ve noticed a reduction in the dust that accumulates on my bookshelves, a major collection point. While I don’t have pets or suffer from allergies, the Sans is also designed to effectively filter pet hair, dander, and general allergens from the air.

I was truly impressed by the Sans’ ability to clean the air, especially of smoke — a feature I hadn’t anticipated. For instance, whenever I’m cooking bacon or sausage for my kids (their favorite breakfast), the smoke from the kitchen instantly triggers the living room purifier to turn red, despite the significant distance between the device and the oven. This was immediately remarkable. It even reacted to the particularly smoky meals being prepared by my downstairs neighbor.

I haven’t had to change the filters yet, but each one provides 2,200 hours (about three months) of continuous protection (and there is a filter replacement indicator). Before that, though, there’s a prefilter you can easily wipe clean with a damp cloth to remove dust, dirt, and allergens. Operating the device is just as simple, with fan speed adjustments including auto (based on air quality), low, medium, and high. You can also turn off the internal light and set a timer.

Incorporating the Sans Air Purifier into my morning and evening rituals has made a world of difference. It’s been a true life-saver, consistently preventing my entire home from feeling stuffy, especially during the winter. I can’t recommend it enough!
