Sherwin-Williams’ ColorMix Forecast Gives Off Calming Vibes for 2021
After this year, you’re probably ready to take a deep breath and relax in preparation for 2021. To help you, Sherwin-Williams came up with four unique, oh-so soothing color palettes as part of the paint brand’s annual color forecast, and just browsing through the paint colors is like a mini therapy session—stress begone!
The predicative collection of 40 hues is dubbed “Rhythm of Color,” and each palette revolves around nature, community, home, and balance. “Rhythm is the secret to how the natural world stays in step,” the Sherwin-Williams Colormix Forecast 2021 webpage reads. “The same sense of balance applies to our personal sense of nature through how we live—and how we design. Fast and slow. Quiet and expressive. Virtual and physical.”
Throughout all four palettes—“Sanctuary,” “Encounter,” “Continuum,” and “Tapestry”—we see warm tans, whites, and grays, soft blues, reddish browns, and pops of muted greens. Sherwin-Williams even predicts that dark, consuming colors like “Cyberspace” and “Tricorn Black” will be popular in the year ahead.
2020’s Color of the Year “Naval” is also expected to be a favorite in 2021 along with other cool tones like “Jubilee,” “Commodore,” and “Perfect Periwinkle.”
“Pure White,” which was put into the Sanctuary palette, is perfect for those wanting to start with a blank slate, as is Encounter’s “Alabaster,” Continuum’s “High Reflective White,” and Tapestry’s “Greek Villa.”
Or, for those wanting a happy dash of color, pinks like “Jovial” and “Jaipur Pink” are forecasted to be in, and “Novel Lilac” could add some purple regalness to your space.
