Spotify Just Launched a Collection of Curated Plant Playlists with PlantKween and Kelly Wearstler
Being a plant parent has always been cool, but over the past year, a lot more people have picked up on the benefits of owning a houseplant — and thus, the mega-trend was born. Spotify noticed, and as a result, the streaming audio service has rolled out their first-ever collection of curated playlists and talkshows to make owners and plants happy at home.
As of May 19, Spotify users can visit their Soundtrack Your Home Hub that brings them to all the plant programming of their dreams. The collection of plant playlists is crafted by well-known personalities that are horticulture pros themselves, and there’s also a music and talk show “Green Gurls Galore” hosted by PlantKween, which offers a plentiful amount of plant tips and advice.
“This ‘Green Gurls Galore’ music and talk show that I’ve created is an opportunity for me to share and speak to folks and share with them, this is my experience, this is how I care for my green girls, so let’s go on a journey,” PlantKween told Apartment Therapy. “I aid folks along in preparing themselves to get ready to care for their green girls.”
As for the curated plant playlists, Designer Kelly Wearstler put together one of them together titled “Parterre Paradise,” which is compilation of songs that she listens to while gardening. “Curating and nurturing plants and making music are both art forms that take time and expertise,” Wearstler said in a press release. “Music is an amazing accompaniment to creative and meditative activity.”
Other star-studded contributors include Daryl Cheng aka @houseplantjournal, who put together “Plant Care,” environmental activist Summer Rayne Oakes and her “Plants & Chill” playlist, and Black Men with Gardens, who compiled the “Back to the Garden” playlist that is described as “the ultimate playlist to water your plants to.”
So as plant ownership continues to thrive, new parents and veterans can turn to Spotify’s new programming for entertainment, advice, and just some good tunes when they need it.
