I Replaced My Old Bed with One That Secretly Holds So Much Storage
I was never too picky about my bed frame, but after 10 years with the same one I decided it was finally time for an upgrade. My old one was in bad shape; it had already broken once (I promise it’s not as saucy as it sounds). Even more pressing was the bed’s lack of storage — whatever I could slide underneath was doomed to be forgotten in a dusty wasteland. I needed something that was better quality, with built-in storage that would make up for the lack of closet space in my small bedroom, all without being too bulky. I ended up finding everything I wanted in Sundays’ Form Storage Bed.
AT editors have tested the Vancouver-based brand’s bed frames before, but I hadn’t gotten the chance to try them out for myself. So when Sundays offered to replace my old peeling bed frame with the Form Storage Bed, I was thrilled to take them up on it. Keep reading to see how it went.

Design Features That Stand Out
In a world full of statement furniture, the Form Storage Bed lets its craftsmanship do the talking. The sleek, ornament-free headboard is refreshingly no-frills: it complements any decor aesthetic and lets the wood-grain oak veneer do all the heavy lifting. But it’s not all sharp lines: Rounded corners soften the silhouette just so, giving it a softer, more elevated feel. It’s also safer for clumsy folks like me who are always bumping into furniture in a sleepy stupor.
It was clear a lot of thought went into the storage design, too. The bed has four drawers total (two on each side) that are high enough off the ground to make pulling them out easy — even on a carpeted floor. I also love that they’re situated nearer to the footboard so I don’t have to worry about them bumping into my nightstand. Each drawer is 23.2 inches wide, 24.6 inches deep, and 4 inches tall, and features integrated pulls at the bottom to give them a clean, minimalist face.
How It Performed
The Form Storage Bed was delivered via Sundays’ free in-home delivery and assembly service, so I was spared from having to do any building myself. Two men carried the pieces up my stairs, and the pieces felt substantial, immediately signaling an upgrade from my previous bed frame. Once it was set up, I couldn’t get in it fast enough. The low profile makes it easy to get in and out of (no need for a running start!), and I can comfortably rest my feet on the floor while seated on it. After sleeping on it for over two months, I can confidently say that it feels as solid and sturdy as it did the day it arrived. It certainly feels like it will outlast the decade-old frame I had before.
I adore the bed’s subtle details, too. The smoothly rounded corners give it a soft, modern feel, and save me from bumping my shins when I groggily stumble out of bed in the mornings. I tested the bed in the White Oak finish, and the oak’s natural wood grain gives it a beautiful, organic look that’s light and airy compared to the dark, espresso-toned bed frame I was rocking before. It even makes my bedroom feel a little bigger — and the slim footprint actually gives me a few extra inches of space between my bed and nightstand, which I never had before.
The real winners, though, are the storage drawers. They’re on the shorter side at 4 inches tall, but they’re incredibly deep, so I still have tons of storage space to work with. I’m able to store a king-size bed blanket in one of them and my husband’s collection of soccer jerseys (there are probably more than 20!) in the other. On the other side, I keep things like holiday decorations and keepsakes that had nowhere to go before. The drawers keep everything protected from dust, scuffs, and curious critters, and for that I am beyond grateful. Grabbing what I need is never a struggle, either; the drawers have pulled out smoothly every time during testing without snagging on the rug in my bedroom. And thanks to the cleanly integrated pulls, the drawers are basically imperceptible when they’re closed. It’s smart and sneaky storage!
