Like anyone who lives in a tiny apartment, I’m always on the hunt for smart storage solutions. While I’ve found great multifunctional furnishings for my bedroom and bathroom, I’ve struggled to find aesthetically pleasing two-in-one pieces for my small living room. The furniture that doubles up as storage is typically either bulky or ugly. Enter: the Woolrich x Target Windowpane Plaid Pattern Storage Ottoman, which could finally put an end to my hunt.

What Is the Woolrich x Target Windowpane Plaid Pattern Storage Ottoman?

Woolrich, an American brand that was founded almost 200 years ago (in 1830!), collaborated with Target to launch a limited-edition collection of apparel, accessories, and home decor. This range includes the Windowpane Plaid Pattern Storage Ottoman available in three color combinations — green and black (my personal favorite), black and white, and red and black

The ottoman features a pine frame and polyester upholstery with a classic windowpane plaid pattern. The ottoman is a true square size (17″ x 17″ x 17″) and has a removable top. Unlike other storage ottomans I’ve looked at recently, it has a significant weight capacity of 250 pounds.

Why the Woolrich x Target Windowpane Plaid Pattern Storage Ottoman Is Such a Good Find

I love the design of the windowpane plaid pattern; it feels like a subtle nod to Woolrich’s iconic Buffalo check. It’s plainly holiday-colored, but doesn’t read as too seasonal — you won’t have to put the ottoman away at the end of December.

The ottoman is a great size to store throw pillows, extra blankets, and other knickknacks. It can serve as a footrest or as a comfortable seat for guests. I personally like all the colors it’s available in, but the red and black one would work well in my living room, as it would add a vibrant pop of color to my neutral palette. The green and black one would be great in my bedroom next to my dresser for storing accessories.
