I love my mother more than words can say, but she is a very particular person. She is confident about what she likes and what she doesn’t, and usually has no problem (kindly) letting me know. So finding the perfect Mother’s Day gift is tough — she deserves the world, and I don’t want to let her down. If you’re in a similar bind, allow me to put you on to a gift that got my mom’s glittering (and hard-won) seal of approval: the Peruvian Cotton Embroidered Robe from the Company Store. She says it’s one of the best gifts I’ve ever given her!

What Is the Company Store Peruvian Cotton Embroidered Robe?

The latest addition to the brand’s Legends Hotel collection, the Peruvian cotton robe brings a boutique B&B vibe to spring and summer mornings. It’s made of a super-soft, drapey cotton knit, yet it’s light enough to keep you cool while lounging around the house. It’s a mid-length style that hits just above the knees, and it has a relaxed, kimono-inspired fit, complete with a shawl collar, deep patch pockets, and a self-tie. But what really sets it apart is the embroidered trim; it gives the robe an artisanal vibe, and adds a little special touch to an otherwise understated garment.

The Peruvian Cotton Embroidered Robe comes in three colors (I got my mom the navy blue), and in sizes XS to XXL .

Why My Mom Is Obsessed With It

For context: My mom lives in Miami, Florida, where it’s essentially summer all year round. And like many women of a certain age, she’ll get a hot flash now and then — so she wants a robe that’s comfy but still keeps her cool. The Company Store’s robe aces that assignment with its breathable cotton fabric. “It was thicker than I expected, but surprisingly soft and airy,” she added. Even still, it’s not so thin that it lacks coverage, so she feels comfortable wearing it around guests while hosting.

A stickler about quality, my mom was immediately impressed by the robe’s high-end feel. I know because I got the above text from her the same day she got it in the mail. The following day, on our usual morning call, she went on to tell me that it feels like quadruple the quality of the other robes she’s had over the years. “It’s soooo comfortable,” she added, “I don’t want to take it off.” Is there anything better to hear as a gift-giver?

She also adores the embroidery on the collar, cuffs, and pockets. “I don’t like loud colors or patterns, but the trim is a nice detail that keeps it from looking basic.”

Given its $124 price tag, the Peruvian Cotton Embroidered Robe isn’t something my mom would ever buy herself — but that’s part of what makes it such a fantastic Mother’s Day gift. It’s a plush, high-quality essential that brings a bit of luxury to her everyday routine.
