The Inside’s New Dining Chairs Can Also Double as Stylish Desk Chairs
Furniture startup The Inside just launched dining chairs as a brand new category in their assortment of on-demand home furnishings. Maybe it’s just me, this couldn’t have come at a better time. As flexible furniture and double-duty spaces have become a top priority, upholstered dining chairs—for the kitchen or otherwise—truly are worth the investment, particularly for anyone working at a dining table instead of a desk. Moreover, if the proper office chair you’ve had your eye on is indefinitely out of stock, a comfy dining chair is your next best option.
Two silhouettes—one armless dining chair and the other an armchair—will be available, and both have actually been designed with working from home in mind. Each chair can be upholstered in any of The Inside’s 100-plus fabrics, including Scalamandré’s ever popular Zebra print as well as solid velvets and performance linens. You can also choose from a black or an espresso finish for the chair’s exposed legs (the sturdy frame is made of solid alderwood).
As part of the launch, The Inside created a fun quiz to help customers find the chair and fabric combo that’ll best suit their taste and needs, but you can also browse options by color and pattern. Small space dwellers might be better served by the armless style, which features a frame that’s less than 20 inches wide.
Like their other handmade-to-order offerings, The Inside’s dining chairs take about a month to ship to your door. For custom furniture, however, that’s fairly quick. Pricing is also competitive for the custom market; the line starts at about $299. If you can’t find the office chair of your dreams, I’d suggest looking at flexible dining seating as a category. There’s bound to be a style to suit your space in this mix, though you might want to add an ergonomic seat cushion for extra comfort.
