You Can Now Live Out Your Wildest HGTV Fantasies on This New Sims Expansion Pack

Home renovations and DIYs have become wildly popular in the last decade, let alone in the last year. Many people execute real life projects, but a game like The Sims allows you to design dream kitchens and living room setups without the financial risk and physical labor. While you’ve always been able to do that on the popular video game, there’s now a dedicated game pack that really lets your inner aspiring interior designer shine.

The latest installment called The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator creates a virtual experience in which you can unleash your home design obession. It allows you to choose interior designer as a career and transform your “clients” spaces from drab to fab, letting you live out your wildest HGTV fantasies.

“With The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator, we wanted to give Simmers the tools and resources to expand their building skillset and express their interior design talents in exciting new ways,” Jill Johnson, producer of The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator, explained in a press release. “Our community has always impressed us through their ingenuity and creativity in building beautiful homes for their Sims, and we can’t wait to see their incredible designs and renovation reveals with the new Interior Decorator Freelance career.”

Here’s how the game works: You are the interior designer working with a client who has their own “makeover dreams.” For a successful renovation project, you will have to take their vision and use your own imagination and skills to redesign their space, realizing its full potential. You need to take into account things like their needs and budget as well as likes and dislikes in order to win a glowing recommendation once the project is complete.

Of course, you will have a bunch of furnishings to choose from, ranging from sectional sofas to built-in stovetops and ovens. Once the project is complete, there will be a big reveal in which you can see how your clients react. And of course, true to any design show, you can create a dramatic “before and after” comparison to show off the transformation.

The Sims 4 Dream Home Decorator game pack is available for $19.99 on a variety of platforms: PC and Mac via Origin and Steam, PlayStation®4 and Xbox One systems. Keep in mind that you need to purchase The Sims 4 game first before being able to install game packs.
