This Stylish Mini Camper Takes the Rough Out of Roughing It
So you’ve finally booked that trip to the ethereal island of Iceland. A quick perusal of a “things to do” list lets you know that the otherworldly Nordic country is jam-packed with geological wonders that you certainly don’t want to miss.
Here to ensure that you can snap shots of thermal springs, black sand beaches and Northern Light shows from the ultimate vantage point is the Mink Camper, a charming compact living space designed to get you from point A to point B and provide a cozy resting spot upon arriving at your final destination.
According to inhabitat, the Mink Camper is approximately 9 ft x 5 ft x 6 ft., which is enough space to accommodate a queen mattress for snoozing or stretching out for a sleepless night of watching stars and auroras performing their cosmic dances in the sky through the large skylight and side windows. The camper’s also fitted with a Webasto heater and thermostat that insulates occupants from the chilly Icelandic nights, along with basic amenities such as a Scandinavian blanket, duvet and pillows. The designers also prioritized connectivity and tech by including access to Wi-Fi, USB charging ports and a Bose sound system. These amenities provide a comfy space for up to two adults or four children.
Despite the Mink’s obvious mobile capabilities, campers won’t need to venture very far in search of food options. Staying true to its goal of making luxury camping in Iceland an easy feat, the tiny trailer comes equipped with a fully-equipped open air kitchen complete with a gas stove, an illuminated ice chest, LED lighting, chairs and tables.
Rental includes the Mink and a 4×4 Dacia Duster that comes with a towing hitch. The camper and the vehicle are available for rental through Avis, with prices ranging from $331 per day.
