Your presents are wrapped, the tree is decorated, and the menu for Christmas dinner is planned and ready to go. But what are you going to use as a centerpiece for your holiday tablescape? Here’s a hot tip: If you head to Trader Joe’s between now and Sunday, Christmas Eve, you’ll be able to pick up one of the grocery chain’s gorgeous pink poinsettias. The bright pop of pink offers a fun twist on the classic red color and it’ll really make your dinner table come to life.

Called “J’adore Poinsettias,” the plants come in three hues: a hot pink, a soft pink, and a creamy white, and each one comes potted in a modern-looking white vase and will only set you back about $8.

Poinsettias make a great gift for plant parents, too, because they can last year after year with proper care. During the holiday season, poinsettias love bright, indirect light and only want to be watered when their soil is mostly dry.

If you’ve already purchased a poinsettia ahead of the holidays, you can trick yours into blooming during Christmas for a second time by keeping it in a shadier spot of your home (rather than in indirect light). But when the inevitable happens and the colorful leaves begin to die off, you can cut the plant back and leave it in a cooler and darker area of your home and give it less water during its dormancy. It should perk back up again in the spring.

You can learn more about caring for your poinsettia using Apartment Therapy’s care guide. For just $7.99, you can snag a centerpiece for your Christmas or New Year’s table, grab one for a friend as the perfect host gift, buy the poinsettia to add something pretty to your own plan collection, or do all three! These J’adore Poinsettias definitely won’t last long with Christmas around the corner, so get one ASAP in every color.
