This $22 Organizer Makes My Shower Look Like It Belongs in a Magazine
I’ve never been a fan of most shower caddies. If they use adhesive, they eventually fall or take a piece of the wall paint with them when removed. And if it’s a metal caddy that hangs over the shower head, it can rust over time. The latter was happening to my old shower caddy, making my entire bathroom look grimy and dingy. Another downside was the tall upper basket that I, at 5 feet tall, struggled to reach without standing on my tiptoes and risking a slip in the shower.
After months of searching for a new shower caddy, both online and in-store, I found one that’s not just stylish and functional, but also made by an Apartment Therapy editor-favorite brand. Enter: the Umbra Flex Shower Caddy.
What Is the Umbra Flex Shower Caddy?
After reading a (glowing) recent Apartment Therapy review of the Umbra Estique Over the Door Organizer, I wondered if the brand I already knew and loved had any smart, sleek shower caddies. As it turns out, it has several — but the one that caught my eye was the Umbra Flex Shower Caddy. I was drawn to my favorite slate blue color I don’t see often in storage products, and once I saw that it was made of recycled plastic with rubber arms and flexible silicone shelf bands, I knew this would be the rust-proof shower caddy I’d been searching for.
At 26 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and 4 inches deep, it has two spacious shelves large enough to fit four shampoo bottles, as well as an integrated drainage system. Each shelf also has two circular “bottle collar” holes designed to store bottles upside down and ensure you’re getting the most out of your bath products. There are four additional peg hooks, one on each side of each shelf, that are convenient for hanging items like loofahs and pumice stones. The mount is incredibly versatile because you can split it apart and use the hooks separately, allowing it to fit over most shower heads and curtain rods.
Why I Love the Umbra Flex Shower Caddy
This shower caddy is one of the most stylish I’ve ever seen — especially in the neutral, modern slate hue (it’s also available in white and black). Because of its material, it has been a breeze to clean and hasn’t formed rust, mold, or any hard water buildup since I’ve had it.
The sleek design makes my bathroom feel more modern without compromising storage space or functionality. I also love that I can reach items on the top shelf by just slipping them under the silicone band. Who knew a stylish, functional shower caddy could make such a difference?
