This Gilded $6 Walmart Holiday Find Fooled Me (I Thought It Was So Expensive!)

While fall has just arrived, retailers are already prepping for the winter holidays. Walmart, for example, is fully in Christmas mode. With a bit of vigilance (and with the help of trusty shoppers), you can still find some pieces that’ll work perfectly for both fall and winter. The best part? They’re only $6 and look so high-end. 

“POV: Santa dropped off Christmas at Walmart,” the creator behind the Walmart Favs Instagram account wrote in a recent caption. “I wasn’t ready … but somehow my cart was.” What the creator described in the video are brass-looking pinecone candleholders that have a vintage, gilded look to them. 

The pinecone taper candleholders from Walmart’s Holiday Time brand come in two sizes, with the smaller size standing about 7 inches tall and the larger standing at 9 inches tall. They’re made from iron and painted with an aged technique to give them a bit of a vintage feel. 

Each candleholder comes with a small “JOY” tag tied into the base with twine that can easily be removed to make them a bit more seasonally versatile. Both candleholders are under $6, so you can grab both of them to use as a set or several of them to create an entire pinecone-themed display without blowing through your decor budget.

If your Walmart sells out and you can’t snag them online, World Market sells a similar pinecone candleholder that comes in a set of two. This one is a bit smaller than the Walmart version, standing at just under 4 inches tall, but the price is definitely comparable. In fact, you could mix and match both the Walmart and World Market pinecone candleholders to create a bit of texture and variety.
