Yankee Candle Just Announced Their 2020 Scent of the Year
If you’ve already burned through all of your favorite fall candles by now, don’t fret. Now’s the perfect time to restock, particularly because 1) it’s always the perfect time to buy new candles, and 2) Yankee Candle just announced its Scent of the Year for 2020.
Based off the name alone and the brief video teaser Yankee released before the big reveal, the fragrance will certainly bring a zen-like vibe to whatever space it occupies. To kick off the new decade, the popular home fragrance retailer has officially named Awaken as its scent for 2020.
Awaken is described as a scent that “reflects our yearning to be present and desire to find beauty and strength in simplicity so you can feel centered, focused and energized.” Its top fragrance notes consist of sheer peony and crystal freesia; the mid notes are clary sage essential oil, driftwood and orcanox; and the bottom notes are mineral musk, patchouli and white amber.
“We’ve learned through our research for Scent of the Year that there is a significant cultural shift away from always wanting more: more options, more communication, more material clutter. Increasingly, people want to simplify their lives, unplug from the constant chatter of technology, and reconnect with themselves and with those they care about,” says Anna Whitton, vice president of marketing, The Yankee Candle Company, in a press release.
For a limited time, the Awaken fragrance will be available for purchase at Yankee Candle stores and YankeeCandle.com.
This marks the second year in a row that Yankee has made its annual aromatic selection, which is chosen by a panel of trend and fragrance experts. Last year, the company launched its inaugural annual scent with “One Together,” a refreshing sweet fragrance comprised of Miracle Flower, mandarin, nectarine, sandalwood, soft woods, suedes and amber notes.
