This Is My Secret Source for Stylish Glassware — Starting at $5

Nothing elevates a beverage quite like drinking it out of a seriously stylish glass. Sparkling water from the can? Sure, it’s great, but pour that same seltzer into a nice stemmed wine glass and the whole experience changes for the better. 

So it comes as no surprise that statement glassware (think: glasses in every color of the rainbow and every shape under the sun) has become incredibly popular.

The only problem? It can cost a pretty penny to build up a collection. 

That’s why I’m always on the lookout for affordable sources for fun glassware. Thrift stores and garage sales are always a good bet if you’re open to used pieces, but it can be a bit more difficult to find brand-new glasses that feel designy without breaking the bank. 

Recently I stumbled upon a great source for stylish glassware in an unexpected space at none other than Target. Okay, okay, I know what you’re thinking: “Well, yeah, Target is pretty well-known for selling homewares.” But I’m not talking about the home section or even the kitchen section. My favorite source for glassware is a little closer to the entrance: The Dollar Spot. 

It’s that section of budget-friendly finds you can only purchase in-store. It’s actually called Bullseye’s Playground, but I call it glassware heaven. Hidden amongst the affordable seasonal decor, tchotchkes, and giftables, you can frequently find some unexpectedly stylish glasses that look so much more expensive than they are. 

A few months ago I popped into Target for a few essentials, but the second I walked into the store, my eye was drawn to this sleek set of rattan-wrapped glasses. I’d been in the market for a summery glassware set for a while so I just couldn’t walk past them without checking the price. I was shocked to find that a pair of glasses was priced at $5, and the pitcher was $5 as well. 

That may have been my first time shopping for glassware at Bullseye’s Playground, but it was far from my last. Now, every time I go to Target I dedicate time to combing the shelves of the budget area to see what I can find. But like I said, the section is not available online, so you do have to go in-person to score these deals. 

My most recent score is this trendy set of green coupes for $5 a pair. It’s almost impossible to find such pretty colors at a price point this low, so I was absolutely thrilled to stumble upon these. 

I’ve been impressed with the quality so far as well. The glasses all have a good weight and have stood up to both hand-washing and the dishwasher (I just have to remove the rattan wraps before cleaning). 

And while you never know for sure what will be in stock when you visit this section, there’s something about the thrill of the hunt that feels exhilarating. Plus, when you do find that perfect set of on-trend glasses, you get the satisfaction of knowing it’s unlikely that anyone else will have them, thanks to the limited stock.
