This Comfy $57 Bedding Set Is Just as Good as the Superexpensive Ones
Before I started testing products for a living, I didn’t think twice about my sheets. I did care about how cute they looked and how budget-friendly they were, but I didn’t really consider what materials were worth splurging on. As you can imagine, I’ve changed my tune since then. I’ve tried sheet sets that have actually helped me sleep solidly through the night by keeping me warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
Many of my favorites are on the pricier side, but I haven’t ditched affordable sheets entirely. I’ve found some under-$100 ones that I would rank up there with my all-timers. I lean toward ultra-soft, smooth-as-butter bed linens — ideally ones that I can use all year long — and Bedsure’s Lyocell Cotton sheets totally fit the bill. And they’re on sale for $57 on Amazon!
What Is the Bedsure Lyocell Cotton Sheet Set?
If you’ve ever shopped for bedding on Amazon, there’s a good chance that Bedsure’s name came up. The brand specializes in bed essentials — from comforters to throw blankets to pillows — that don’t break the bank, but still offer a cozy feel and last for a long time. In my experience (and according to a number of other Apartment Therapy writers and editors) their products have lived up to that claim. You can even check out all of our favorites here.
These 16-inch-deep sheets are made of 70% lyocell and 30% cotton. According to our sheet-buying guide, lyocell is “a cellulose fiber derived from crushed wood pulp and is considered semi-synthetic. It can be made from bamboo or eucalyptus and is extremely smooth.” In this case, it consists of the latter. The hypoallergenic blend is designed to be breathable and moisture-wicking and silky to the touch, and the cotton component gives it sturdiness.
Why I Love the Bedsure Lyocell Cotton Sheet Set
I’ve been putting these sheets on my bed all winter long, and I’ve been totally impressed with how comfortable they feel. They’re meant to be cooling sheets; I haven’t used them when my apartment is at its stuffiest, but I’m hopeful they’ll be extra clutch when spring temps are finally here to stay. These sheets have been a good neutral option — not as heavy as flannel, but not as light as linen. I don’t know if I’d say that they’re cold to the touch, but they’re definitely more breathable than the synthetic blends I’ve tried.
Their all-season weight isn’t the only feature that has me reaching for them again and again: The material really is buttery-feeling with the slightest bit of crispness. It’s so smooth against my skin that I look forward even more to getting under the covers every night. Plus, the pillowcases help my hair from getting too frizzy.
Plus, even when I toss and turn — I’m a pretty violent sleeper — they haven’t budged from under my mattress. All of that and the fact that they’ve shown no signs of wear after multiple weeks of use and washes has me putting this set on the same level as others that cost at least four times more. I’m sure I’ll be using them just as often as it gets warmer outside!
