Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2024 Is a Surprising Violet Blue
Following a fleet of recent blue-hued 2024 Color of the Year announcements (looking at you, Dunn Edwards, Sherwin-Williams, and Valspar), Benjamin Moore is officially following suit with its own up-and-coming shade: Blue Nova (825).
Just announced today, Benjamin Moore’s Color of the Year 2024 feels especially distinct, thanks to a moody blue and violet blend that oozes timelessness and sophistication in any room. “Blue Nova 825 is an alluring mid-tone that balances depth and intrigue with classic appeal and reassurance,” Andrea Magno, Color Marketing & Development Director at Benjamin Moore, explains in a press release.
In case you couldn’t tell by its star-centric name, the paint color draws inspiration from space to spark a sense of adventure and exploration. Don’t be intimidated by the out-of-this-world origins, though: a spokesperson for the brand noted during the live reveal that Blue Nova is designed to pair well with existing interior palettes, especially neutral shades like off-whites, tans, and beiges. Of course, it encourages more daring design opportunities, too — you can’t go wrong with a complementary orange combo, if you’re so inclined.
On top of Blue Nova, Benjamin Moore also shared their Color Trends 2024 Palette, complete with nine additional paints that are intended to bridge the gap between contemporary and classic styles. These run the gamut from muted White Dove (OC-17) to the deep Regent Green (2136-20) to the light blue Polar Sky (1674), pictured below alongside Blue Nova.
Lucky for you, if you’re inspired by Blue Nova (or any other 2024 trending colors) for your next paint project, Benjamin Moore’s website makes it easy to visualize the look in your own space.
