This Cozy Burrow Sofa Finally Solved the Tricky Layout Problem in My Living Room (It’s Perfect!)
Ever since my husband and I bought our first home four years ago, we’ve been constantly shopping for furniture (both virtually and IRL) and rearranging room layouts (IRL, to my arms’ dismay).
Our white whale has been shopping for the right sofa for our living room where the layout is much longer than it is wide. Our previous sectional felt too small for the space, and we couldn’t have fun with trendy croissant-shaped couches, or create throwback vibes with a U-shaped sectional for a faux conversation pit (maybe in our next house?).
But after years of living in our space and sketching out layout possibilities, I think we’ve finally found the perfect solution with a Union sectional from Burrow.

Why I Love the Burrow Union
As someone who has two other Burrow sectionals (the Nomad and the Field), what makes the Union stand out is that it has the deepest, widest, and plushest seats out of Burrow’s seven modular sofa collections. The seats are a generous 27 inches deep and about 35 inches wide, and the cushions are super cozy, so you never want to get up from the couch.
The Union is also one of the first Burrow collections to feature ivory-colored fabric — something I’ve been wanting to make our living room feel and look more airy and bright. For those who can’t commit to a white couch, don’t worry — the stain-resistant fabric has withstood lots of messy guests and messier pets in our house.
IMO, the Union is the brand’s most underrated collection, but it deserves the same amount of praise as the brand’s best-selling Nomad line and the Scandi-inspired Range collection.
We eventually decided on the six-seat Union sectional with a matching ottoman in Ivory with Walnut legs. The sofa’s modular design made it easy to configure the sofa so that it would be longer than wide, just like the room layout.
Once we finally got the configuration right, though, we realized that the sofa felt too long, if you could believe it (we definitely couldn’t). Cue another round of shuffling where we turned the six-seater into a five-seater and repurposed the extra seat as an accent chair in another room instead. Thankfully, the modular build made it easy to move just the seats we needed without having to lift everything up.
Now, with the final five-seat Union sectional and ottoman, our living room’s sofa situation finally feels complete — well, until we get another itch to change up the room layout.
How Easy Is It to Assemble the Burrow Union?
Burrow doesn’t offer any assembly services, but assembling the Union is relatively straightforward and easy with a bit of arm strength. However, I would definitely recommend getting a second or third hand to help — especially because the Union’s seats are very wide and can be hard to carry.
A large part about the ease of assembly is due to the packaging and labeling. Because of the modular design, the Union arrived in boxes that were clearly labeled by sofa parts (like seats, arm rests, and cushions), while the wooden legs were wrapped in smaller boxes, and hardware was in its own mini boxes. The boxes were definitely on the large side, but they still fit sideways through my front door.
How Long Does it Take for the Burrow Union to be Shipped?
Depending on the configuration and customization, the Burrow Union can be shipped in as little as five days or up to eight weeks. My ottoman arrived within a week-and-a-half of ordering, but I waited a little more than four weeks for the sectional to arrive.
Does the Burrow Union Get Delivered to Your Door or a Certain Room?
Burrow’s furniture is delivered by FedEx, so the carrier will only deliver items to the front door of your apartment building or house; they won’t deliver to a certain room like a living room.
How Much Does the Burrow Union Cost?
The Burrow Union will range in price depending on the configuration. When there isn’t a sale, prices start at $1,149 for an armchair, and can go up to $6,899 for the largest eight-seat U-shaped sectional. There are no additional fees for choosing different fabrics or leg finishes.
If you want to add to your sofa, you can also shop the matching ottoman for $499 and even add a second or third armchair to your order to build out an even larger sectional; the sectionals are designed to be modular so you can expand your sofa however you’d like.
Are There Any Sales on the Burrow Union?
Currently, Burrow is running an early Labor Day sale with 20% off sitewide through August 22 with the code LDS20. This means that my six-seat sectional and ottoman are down to $4,478.40 instead of the usual $5,598. It’s still definitely an investment and the starting price is high because of our configuration, so the price is very much dependent on your needs. To make it easier on your wallet, you might want to consider taking advantage of the brand’s financing options through Affirm. And for more Labor Day sales, we’ve got all the best early deals right here.
