Cozy living room with gray sofa, colorful pillows, round wooden coffee table, plants, and decorative mirrors on white brick wall.

Living in New York City typically means getting creative when it comes to maximizing your space. The same rings true for plenty of big cities, and while some people may find it frustrating, I find joy in discovering inventive space-saving solutions. With that in mind, you can only begin to imagine my excitement when I discovered the Sofa Armrest Table from Castlery.

My living room is barely large enough for a small coffee table, let alone the matching end tables I’d always hoped to have. Thanks to Castlery’s Sofa Armrest Table — which was a winner in Apartment Therapy’s recent Small/Cool Design Awards — my end table daydreams might finally become a reality. The modern and superchic table attaches onto the arm of your couch (or armchair, I suppose), resulting in all of the functionality of an end table without the footprint. Whether you live in a small space or you simply enjoy a convenient place to set your coffee while you watch TV, this table is kind of a game-changer.

The table is designed to go with Castlery couches from the Dawson and Mori collections, but it can also work with other furniture. The width of the part that goes over the arm of the couch is adjustable anywhere between 5.5 and 7.9 inches, so while it won’t fit every couch, it fits quite a few of them. It even has a built-in magazine rack that extends down the side of your couch, which is perfect for storing not just magazines, but papers for work or school, or even a tablet or small laptop.

The Sofa Armrest Table comes in three beautiful finishes: natural wood, rich chestnut brown, and black, which will fit just about any home decor color palette. Made from plywood with an oak veneer, the table is durable as well as gorgeous. At just $129, one table is significantly less expensive than the majority of traditional end tables, and it’s still affordable even if you purchase a pair.

What I love most about Castlery’s Sofa Armrest Table is that it’s a truly unique piece that helps make the most out of any space. The design is ingenious, and now I just have to decide which color I want and whether I’m going to splurge for two.
