The $130 Shelving Unit Costco Shoppers Swear Is “Better Than IKEA”

If you’re on the hunt for new things to buy to tidy up your space, this organizing room divider from Costco that’s just like the famed IKEA KALLAX should be at the tippy top of your to-buy list. 

Why? Because the Bayside O’nin Storage Organizer is an eight-cubby shelving unit that comes with eight fabric pull-out drawers that can be used to keep your things organized. It’s available in Costco warehouses for $130 as stock allows, and while it was also online for under $160, all three colorways are currently sold out because shoppers swear it’s that good. 

“Perfect for kids’ rooms or laundry rooms etc..!” the creator behind the Costco Deals Instagram account wrote in a recent caption.

“It’s better than IKEA’s,” one commenter wrote, adding, “it’s sturdier.” And another person agreed, “This is a great purchase and super sturdy. Better quality than IKEA in my humble opinion.”

And the reviewers on Costco.com are also thrilled with just how stable, spacious, and well-built the O’nin organizer is. 

“We have purchased five of these storage/room dividers in two different colors over the past four years. We love this furniture piece, it is so versatile,” one reviewer wrote. “It can be used both vertically and horizontally. This is like a 6-in-1 piece of furniture. We have used it as a bookshelf, storage for toys, cubbyholes, room divider, TV entertainment center, even as a wet bar … Get this piece of furniture and try to come up with even more ways to use it!”

If you don’t have a Costco near you, then you can also check out Amazon’s version of IKEA’s KALLAX. It’s from the Closetmaid brand and, although it doesn’t come with the fabric drawers, it’s a dead ringer for the original KALLAX. And on sale for just $83, it’s currently cheaper than the original, too.
