Costco Is Selling Huge Houseplants for Under $20 (Get One Before They’re Gone!)
Spring might officially start next month (and good news: It’ll be a warm one!) but much of the United States is still in for cold and gray weather for the next few weeks. While you wait to plant your garden outside, you might be looking for ways to bring a little nature indoors for just a bit longer. If that’s the case, great news! Right now, Costco is selling full and healthy houseplants at a generous 10-inch size for just $17.99.
I spotted this deal when I ran into my local Costco to get a (what else?) rotisserie chicken. At my local warehouse, the plants are located right up front and came in a few options: snake plants (in a couple of different varieties), fiddle leaf figs, corn plants, and a gorgeous variegated dieffenbachia.
While I’ve seen these plants at other garden centers, what stood out to me about Costco’s offerings (which are all from Costa Farms brand) was the bargain price for the huge size. A 10-inch-diameter pot is big enough to fill a corner of your living room! For under $20, that’s a serious steal.
For the plant-nervous, I’d advise snagging a snake plant in either variety because they’re famously low-maintenance. Those cool, sculptural leaves hold a lot of water, so they can go a long time between waterings and can adapt to lower-light environments, too.
Fiddle leaf figs are a little more precious, but if you have the patience to figure out where in your home offers the perfect amount of light for these picky plants, you’ll be off to a great start.
Corn plants, a type of dracaena plant, and dieffenbachia plants are both a little lower-key than fiddle leaf figs, but will require some extra humidity to thrive (especially in dry winter air). You might need to prop them near a humidifier for best success.
As with all Costco products, pricing and availability will vary depending on your location. But it’s worth a stop by your local warehouse to see if any of these stunning houseplants are in stock!
