Costco Has the Cutest Mini Holiday Decor Item for Under $20 (Grab 3!)

If you don’t already have a Costco run baked into this week’s schedule, it’s time to do some rearranging because the warehouse store has real potted Christmas trees in stock right now that are beyond adorable. They’re flocked with faux snow and come pre-lit with LED twinkle lights. Plus, each one is under $20. Merry Christmas to you and all your plant-loving friends on your shopping list!

Depending on your Costco location, these trees may come in either red or white decorative pots with some of them being neutral enough to last well beyond the holidays. They’re mini spruce trees (though Costco doesn’t specify what kind of spruce they are). But, even so, these guys are fairly easy to care for once you get them home. 

Spruce trees and shrubs are durable plants that like colder climates and a lot of sun, so when you take your Costco mini tree home, put it somewhere away from a heater and near a window that receives a lot of sunlight during the day. And it likes moist (but not soaked) soil, so water it deeply when the soil starts feeling dry.

If you plan on planting your spruce outside in the spring, take their love for colder climates into consideration first. These trees will do much better outside in northern areas compared with southern spots, and prefer a lot of sun exposure and moist, well-draining soil, as well as good air circulation around it (so don’t plant it right next to your house — give it some room to breathe!).

These mini trees will give you so much joy well past Christmastime. So once the season ends, keep them healthy and thriving and you’ll have yourself a merry little mini Christmas tree for so many holiday seasons to come!
