When I walk the aisles of Costco, I’m always on the hunt for the real gems — something I actually need, that works well, and is sold at an impressively discounted price. And sometimes hidden among the many aisles of impulse buys and bulk groceries, there’s something so special that I wind up making a return trip to stock up on more. This winter, that gem is the Brentwood Originals Waterproof Pet Blanket and Furniture Protector, hands down. I now own six of these dreamy blankets and people won’t stop asking me where I got them from.

If you share your home with furry friends, you’re probably keenly aware of just how annoying cleaning pet stains and messes can be. From their wet, muddy paws to their innocent accidents, it can be a lot of work to keep your home neat, clean, and presentable if you allow pets on your furniture — we do, so I’m not judging, promise.

Owning something that protects your furniture, rugs, and bedding doesn’t just save you money, but time, too. I love our two small dogs (dearly), but carefully cleaning up after them means a lot more frequent spot cleaning and loads of laundry than I’d like, especially now that our oldest dog is a senior and more prone to bladder leaks. I spotted these at Costco and was immediately impressed by how large and plush they are for the price — you can buy them in store right now for $24.99 each, and if you catch them on sale, I’ve seen them marked down as low as $19 each.

These 60” x 70” wonders are waterproof and machine washable, yet super soft. And, not to mention incredibly pretty to look at too. I first purchased one primarily to protect our living room couches but when I realized I was just as cozy laying on them as my pets were and they also complement our décor, I knew I had to stock up on these blankets before they were all gone. They’re available in three different styles, which makes them perfect for mixing and matching around your home. Snow Leopard and Lamb are the most asked-about ones at our place (and the coziest too). In my experience, most waterproof blankets take forever to wash and dry, but despite being oversized, washing these is a breeze.

Over the holiday season, our guests were genuinely shocked to learn they were reversible pet blankets and not just winter throws. I can finally protect our upholstery from our pets without my living room looking like a giant wee-wee pad, and my inner hostess is absolutely thrilled. Love your furniture as much as your pets? The blanket is currently sold out online, but there are still plenty on the racks at your local Costco — I just checked. Run, don’t walk, there now to get these for your furniture, beds, car, and beyond, while it’s still officially cozy season. I promise, you won’t be sorry.

In case your local store is sold out, here’s a similar Bedsure blanket to try. The price and style are very close to my Costco blanket, but there are a few more colors and sizes to choose from so you’ve got options.

No matter which one you plan to buy though, run, don’t walk, to get these for your furniture, beds, car, and beyond, while it’s still officially cozy season. I promise, you won’t be sorry.
