Q: Help! I've been looking everywhere for a sofa that my two lovely cats won't totally destroy! Because of their clawing and fur, it needs to be leather. Because of their history of throwing up a hair ball (or two) on my previous couches, it needs to be pigmented leather (very stain resistant)...

I've found some options but it seems like most sofas that fit those requirements look like they belong in a bachelor pad.

So far the best I've found is this one from Five Elements, but reviews of the brand say that the cushion totally flattens and you can feel the metal bars after one to two years. I'm also considering the dark brown IKEA Karlstad (with replaced legs) and the West Elm Henry in Coffee (although I'd prefer something in a lighter color and more mid-century). Both seem like they might be a little too bachelor pad- I'm looking for suggestions for catproof sofas that are pretty!! -Sent by Kelsey

Editor: Readers, is there a single sofa out there that not only looks good but will triumph in the battle of Couch Vs. Cats? Please share your recommendations with Kelsey, as well as any sofas that she should definitely avoid. Thanks!
