You’ll Want to Put These $1 Halloween Decor Gems All Over Your Home
Autumn is the best time to go all out with your decor. It’s true — I don’t make the rules! You can embrace the scary skeletons and various zombie creations they have for sale at Spirit Halloween. You can get crafty and DIY a chic set of ghost candles. You can go all in on pumpkin-scented candles and plush pumpkins and pumpkin-patterned dish towels. There are so many possibilities, and all of them are perfect. But if I had to choose just one type of fall decor to fill my home with, it would have to be these Spooky Halloween Fairy Garden figurines from the dollar store.
I’ve written about this Dollar Tree decor line before, when they released their springtime items, and now I’m writing about it once again because the autumnal version is like having a tiny Halloweentown in your home. You can buy the pieces in store individually for $1.25 apiece, or you can order a full 34-piece set online for $20. For the price of two or three overpriced lattes, you could instead be the proud owner of a veritable village of Halloween miniatures, including, according to the Dollar Tree site, the following: four fairy garden houses (one is a turret-topped stone home with a friendly ghost flying out of the window); 12 “unique accessories,” like gravestones and jack-o’-lanterns; and 18 “whimsical figurines,” such as ghosts, black cats, gnomes, and witches.
Curious just how tiny they are? “Each Spooky Halloween Fairy Garden set includes the entire collection (34 pieces total), ranging in size from 1 inch to 4 inches tall,” the product description states. So go forth with decorating your bookshelves, mantel, windowsills, counters, and more. I have my eye on these small ghost and pumpkin-shaped candles from Etsy to complete the vignette, too.
I may be partial to these $1 decorations because, generally speaking, I love tiny things — little spoons, shot glasses as mini cups, magnets that look like wee pieces of food — anything scaled down is exponentially cuter. And when it comes to Halloween decor, these small figurines let you deck your space out — even if that space is small.
As much as I’d love to put a giant blow-up version of the Sanderson sisters outside my home, I fear my landlord would not love that. So I’ll stick with these Dollar Tree miniatures, which are an excellent small-space and wallet-friendly alternative.
