I Can’t Stop Talking About This “Miraculous” Stone Bath Mat (It’s Such a Game-Changer!)

When it comes to bath mats, I’ve always been a fan of keeping things white and bright. I don’t care if the mat looks like a towel, a low-pile rug, or a rug with large loops. I just prefer to keep it simple so that it doesn’t compete with anything else in my bathroom. The Dorai Bath Stone Mat is a flat, 23.6″ x 15.4″ slab of diatomaceous earth. What is diatomaceous earth? Glad you asked! Basically it’s a ceramic-like material that feels like natural stone. Because the stone mat instantly absorbs water (it can hold up to 150% of its weight in moisture!), bacteria and mold have no time to form. And while traditional bath mats get grungy and discolored over time, the Dorai Bath Stone Mat does not. Should it get any scuffs or stains, they can easily be “erased” with the included patch of sandpaper (deeper stains may require a dose of bleach or hydrogen peroxide). I never thought I’d be blown away by a bath mat, but here we are. When I step on the Dorai Bath Stone Mat, the bottoms of my feet dry instantly. No joke — they’re bone-dry. And any water that drips off my body is immediately soaked up in the stone. This is huge, because I frequently find myself hopping out of the shower to fetch something I forgot, like a new bottle of shampoo I left on the bathroom counter or the just-laundered bathroom towel that’s hanging on the closet door. In the past, I’d leave a trail of wet footprints everywhere and have to wipe down the floor, but now there’s no water left behind as I walk. The stone soaks up so much water as soon as I step on it, and my footprints immediately vanish from the mat once I step off (I feel like the Invisible Man!).

I also like that the mat still looks brand-new after months of use and doesn’t require cleaning. All of my previous white bath mats got discolored and disgusting looking, to the point that they needed frequent replacement because I didn’t want them to be visible to guests.
