Hello Wood, a Budapest-based studio that specializes in temporary custom-built installations, is an expert in minimalist living. From forest huts to whimsical treehouses, the homes are all about slow living and reconnecting with nature. With its latest accommodation, the Wauhaus, cabin dwellers can rise above the ground and escape everyday life in a cozy retreat set among sweeping countryside views.

The first Wauhaus is built in an idyllic surrounding on top of the Zala County hills in Hungary and, according to Hello Wood, this specific building has been designed to function as a guest house or study, but can also be used for glamping vacations when you really want to switch off. The cabin is three and a half meters wide, which is one meter more than Hello Wood’s standard container size.

As with all Hello Wood installations, Wauhaus cabins are built from sustainable and durable wood materials. The cabins rests on legs of different lengths, and the exterior walls are covered with graphite grey larch planking. A narrow bridge leads to the entrance on the side of the house, which widens into a terrace in front of the door. Letting in plenty of natural light, there’s a large façade window along with additional round windows in the living room and bathroom areas, adding to the contemporary design. The interiors are completely covered with natural birch plywood, which was also used to create the kitchen furniture and the sliding doors that hide the bathroom and cabinetry.

Best of all, the cabins are completely customizable, and can be built in your location of choice. Check out the video below to view the Wauhaus in all its glory.

The Wauhaus joins several other innovative accommodations, including the Kainka cabins, Workstation cabins, Grand cabins, and Wellness cabins.
