The unexpected celebrity of Halloween 2020 was no doubt Home Depot’s 12-foot-tall skeleton, which became a viral sensation thanks to its adorably spooky presence that loomed large over yards across the country. Whether because of its impressive social media status or because spending nearly $300 on a single decorative holiday item is quite an investment, owners of the famous skeleton kept their new purchase in the spotlight throughout the holidays, incorporating it into their Christmas decor by way of Santa hats, string lights, festive scarves, and stockings.

Now, everyone’s favorite skeleton is back — and this time, it’s celebrating Pride Month. Twitter users have been showing off the massive bag of bones dressed up in rainbows to honor the LGBTQIA+ community this month. Twitter user Morgan Lockhart recently spotted her “neighborhood giant skeleton dressed for Pride,” with the skeleton donning pink sunglasses, along with multiple rainbow flags and two large banners reading “LOVE WINS.”

After her tweet received viral attention, she shared, “The owners of this skeleton have gone all out for every holiday since getting it at Halloween. It is a source of constant delight.”

Even if you weren’t lucky enough to snag the $299 skeleton when it was in stock at Home Depot last fall, fear not. Regular old skeletons will do the trick, too, as evidenced by these creative Pride decorative setups featuring spooky skeletons in their rainbow best.

Here’s hoping the retailer will bring the skeleton back for 2021 — start saving now and you too can have an enormous skeleton to dress up for holidays year-round. If you’ve already got some regular-sized skeletons on hand in your stash of Halloween decor, dig ‘em out and celebrate Pride just like these other creative homeowners are.
