IKEA Is Selling Gorgeous Live Hydrangeas This Spring (for Just $15!)
A trip to IKEA can be a bit overwhelming. By the time you’ve made it through the marketplace, you probably just want to speed through the aisles of the warehouse, grab your flat packs, and get to the checkout (and to the cinnamon rolls) ASAP. I get it — but I highly encourage you to stop and smell the roses on your next visit. Yes, literally!
IKEA’s nursery section, usually one of the last in the marketplace, is full of reasonably priced, popular houseplants that are in pretty great shape. I’ve had a lot of success there in the past; to this day, some of the best plants in my collection were found at IKEA. So when I spotted a flash of blue and pink among the sea of leafy greens last weekend, I was thrilled to discover that IKEA is selling beautiful blooming hydrangeas — and I was even more thrilled to see them priced at just $14.99 apiece!
Hydrangeas are huge right now — and as a Cape Cod girl, I’m loving their mainstream renaissance. The popularity of “coastal grandma” and cottagecore aesthetics have played a big part in this, and I’m here for it: I love seeing all the new, creative ways people are styling my favorite florals these days.
Even way back in November, we said hydrangea-trimmed Christmas trees would be all the rage this year, and (no brag) we were right! Now that they’re popping up everywhere from bridal bouquets to dinnerware sets, I think it’s safe to say that hydrangeas are the “it” plant of 2026.
For me, nothing beats the classic blue and pink hydrangeas — and IKEA has both, plus this gorgeous pastel purple shade, which is the perfect combination of the two. As I said, I always pause to look at IKEA’s live plants, but I’ve never seen hydrangeas in stock before. Plus, at just $14.99, these 6-inch beauties are priced way better than most other varieties I’ve seen elsewhere this spring.
Now is the perfect time to stock up on your flowering plants. Nothing says spring quite like blooming pastels! Although hydrangeas are most commonly planted outdoors, IKEA’s pint-size potted ones will do just fine indoors (as long as you keep them well-watered).
I’m not sure how long these will be in stock for, though, so be sure to pick one up on your next visit while you still can!
