The 5 Things Actress Jamie Chung Keeps on Her Nightstand — and One She Definitely Doesn’t
Our nightstand setup says a lot about how we like to end the day and start another. What’s On My Nightstand asks celebrities, entrepreneurs, and beyond what essentials they like to keep within arm’s reach.
On the best days, your bedside table supports you and all your wellness habits. It holds your lotions, oils, and sprays, provides bedside light and a place to prop your journal, and can help you stay hydrated (okay, maybe that’s just Leanne Ford’s situation). It helps you fall asleep and wake up on the right side of the bed, and when life gets busy, it has a way of slowing the world down for you. Need proof? Enter, Jamie Chung’s nightstand.
You might know Chung from MTV’s “The Real World” or the many other films and TV shows she’s been in (seriously, there are too many to mention), and she’s not slowing down anytime soon this summer. Her most recent accomplishments include buying a new condo in Brooklyn, establishing a partnership with American Express Membership Rewards, and starring in the new film “The Misfits,” plus acting in the new miniseries “Dexter: New Blood” that’s now in production (phew). But her nightstand items give a glimpse into how she gets it done — with a little bedside R&R.
But let the nightstand items speak for themselves! Here are the five items Chung keeps by her side, plus the one thing that she avoids putting there at all costs. And in the bonus round, she mentions what her character Violet would have on her nightstand (spoiler: a decent amount of crime-fighting essentials):
Molekule Mini Air Purifier: “I have the Molekule Mini, which is right next to me. It is a two-for-one because it does white noise and it purifies the air. Otherwise, I’ll listen to white noise on my phone because I’m a pretty light sleeper.”
Silk eye cover: “I have a silk eye cover because I feel like that’s really nice on your skin.” And with plenty of options out there, you have your choice.
Kindle: “I have my Kindle. I just got it shipped back to Los Angeles because I wanted to load it up with some books before my trip to Italy. I’m currently reading ‘Crying In H Mart,’ but I just started it last night, so I have one chapter down.”
Idyl jewelry boxes: “I also have a couple of jewelry boxes from Idyl. I just use the same boxes to put my jewelry in on my nightstand, and I think that’s about it.”
Hudson Wilder water glass: Chung keeps a style glass by Hudson Wilder nearby to stay hydrated at night and into the morning. As someone who doesn’t drink much water, maybe this is the aesthetically pleasing motivation I’ve needed all along.
Things to avoid putting on the nightstand: “I try not to keep my laptop there because it’s so easy to get into a hole, and I try to stay away from as much blue light as possible.”
What Violet from “The Misfits” would have on her nightstand: “I do think she’s one of those that will always sleep with one eye open, she needs all of her senses. There certainly wouldn’t be any books or entertainment… I think it would just be her phone, a glass of water, a knife, her barretta… she would have a lot of weapons.”
Thanks for chatting with us, Jamie!
