That’s still true for the new Fall 2026 collection that Joanna and her team unveiled recently — these finds definitely lean into vintage-inspired styles that read pure cozy in almost any room. Poring over the 60+ items in this new drop, I quickly noticed that a common palette was cropping up across many pieces, including dinnerware, accent lamps, and bedding. It seems Joanna is inspired by a cool, tranquil shade of blue this season, and she’s not the only one; more designers and industry pros are signaling that blue is about to rule cozy interiors this fall.

There are a ton of earthy neutrals mixed into Joanna’s latest collection, but I immediately clocked that a soft, powdery blue runs throughout many decor pieces — sometimes drenching the item entirely (like these throw pillows!). It’s no coincidence that this tranquil blue-green hue is gaining steam; paint experts at Valspar just named “Cottage Door” — a “mid-tone” blue that is both warm and cool all at once — as its 2027 Color of the Year. It also has appeared in Pinterest’s official 2026 palette, continuing to gain steam among interior designers as the year progresses. And Joanna knows that this particular color is beautifully delicate when used in soft, feminine designs, dovetailing with her cozy approach to scalloped napkins, throw covers, and more. There’s a timeless elegance associated with muted blue that she tapped into, all part of its uplifting, calming profile that makes this particular take on blue feel super timely right now. 

While there will always be room for warm whites and beiges, designers are increasingly moving neutrals into more vivid realms — and blues are about to enter the lexicon, too. Softer, muted tones like those featured in this new Magnolia collection behave like a neutral when balanced with other neutrals or even paired with louder, deeper shades of chromatic colors. Powdery blue-green hues and faded denim-inspired shades offer a beautifully lived-in look that works well with wood finishes, brass accents, and other earthy colors that define cozy spaces in the colder months.

As Joanna’s new collection has demonstrated, this hue brings a pop of color into a room without overwhelming it — the calming shade in question adds depth while maintaining an ease that people usually get from beige and gray tones.
