Adding to the list of celebrity homes we want to live in but have settled for fawning over, actress and comedian Kristen Wiig recently acquired a new piece of real estate in Pasadena. The $2.96 million, 3,425-square-foot home sits on one-third of an acre in the hillside neighborhood of San Rafael, a picturesque post situated above the historic Rose Bowl.

Father and son architect duo Kemper Nomland and Kemper Nomland Jr. built the residence in 1947 as a part of Arts and Architecture Magazine’s Case Study program, which sponsored “new ideas in residential design” to accommodate the housing boom created by World War II soldiers returning home. It also helped to shed a light on the talents of various West Coast architects.

According to Yolanda Yakkeyyak (via Variety), the sale on Wiig’s brand new digs was finalized in November. The house was the only Case Study home erected in Pasadena and was last sold in 2012. Since then, it has undergone various renovations, for which the owners received a Historic Preservation Award in 2015, Curbed reports. The home features a wood and glass entryway, hardwood flooring, pitched ceilings and contains multiple levels complete with three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms. Showing us exactly how to make the most of a combined glam living and dining area, the rooms are divided by a large free-standing brick fireplace, which sits next to a spacious newly renovated kitchen.

Tall windows help to flood the space with natural light while providing a view of the backyard, which is outfitted with a fire pit, concrete patios, a terraced garden area, a new swimming pool, a spa and a detached pool house with its own bathroom.

This isn’t Wiig’s only major real estate maneuver this year; the actress placed her gorgeous LA home on the market for $2.4 million back in March.
