I love to browse Crate & Barrel, but browse is the keyword there. I don’t actually own much from the brand — besides a serving tray and a vase that were under $30 — because its stunning pieces typically come with a steep price tag. Maybe someday I’ll be able to splurge on their furniture and decor, but it won’t be anytime soon. So in the meantime, I’ve been keeping an eye out for dupes that’ll give me the Crate & Barrel look for way less.

Enter: Marshalls. If you do enough digging at stores like Marshalls, T.J. Maxx, and HomeGoods, you’ll stumble across gems that look like they came out of a higher-end store, but you won’t feel nearly as guilty about adding them to your cart afterward. During my latest search, I saw a storage ottoman that could easily be mistaken for a version that Crate & Barrel sells. The main difference? It’s less than half the price.

What Is the Handcrafted in India Storage Ottoman?

Storage ottomans are a must-have for every space, especially smaller ones. Still, regardless of size, extra storage is always appreciated (and sometimes necessary for organizational purposes). This option delivers on the function front with its roomy interior. The top lifts off to reveal an area you can fill with anything, from blankets to linens to books to board games. It measures 25 inches wide and 19 inches tall, which makes it the perfect size for holding a solid amount and serving as a footstool for your sofa or armchair. The trendy bouclé fabric and modern shape are just the cherry on top, keeping your items out of sight in stylish packaging.

Marshalls’ ottoman shares all these qualities with Crate & Barrel’s version, which is almost $300 more. The cheaper one is also several inches larger; the other comes out to only 17 inches by 22 inches. They both offer a similar elevated yet playful look that’ll make a statement in your living room.

If you’re like me and want the Crate & Barrel vibe without taking the blow to your wallet, this ottoman is a no-brainer. It checks all of the boxes with its gorgeous design and decluttering capability. Once shoppers catch on, it’s bound to sell out quickly like many Marshalls items do, so move fast!
