As soon as August rolls around, I am firmly in the spooky season mood. It doesn’t matter that it still feels like summer with the boiling weather — as soon as stores start getting their Halloween decor shipments in and setting them on the shelves, I want to start decking out my apartment in pumpkins and spiderwebs. IKEA’s new fall line just featured their first-ever Halloween collection; the viral giant skeleton from Home Depot was restocked in July and sold out in an instant; HomeGoods is already teeming with adorable ghostly items that are TikTok’s latest obsession. So, how could I not be in the Halloween spirit?

Pottery Barn is one of our favorite destinations for stylish-yet-festive finds. Their annual Halloween collection always features pieces that are so upscale-looking that, even though they’re technically “decorations,” you’ll want to keep them on display well after the holiday season is over. You might remember those super popular velvet pumpkins from a few falls ago, or maybe you remember Gus the Ghost, who just returned after selling out last year. But as much as we still love those, we came across another pillow that we just HAVE to have. Trust me, once you lay eyes on the Mr. Bones plush, you’ll feel the exact same way.

Mr. Bones will be the MVP of all your Halloween decor — just look at him! You can arrange his arms and legs however you’d like, since each of his bones are separate pieces connected by rope, marionette style. You can have him relaxing on your couch for the entirety of fall and change up his position whenever you want a different look. He’s so versatile!

He has a handmade look, too, with black embroidered details on sherpa-like textured fabric. He looks far from scary, unlike most skeleton decorations, so he won’t look out of place among your usual decor. Not to say he won’t stand out — he’s way too cool to just disappear into your couch! Mr. Bones speaks to the “dopamine decor” trend that’s been making the rounds on TikTok recently — it’s all about outfitting your home with items that speak to your inner child and bring you joy. You can’t deny that Mr. Bones does both of those things in spades.

If you can’t get enough of Mr. Bones’ vibe, you can even get him some company: You can pair him with the aforementioned Gus the Ghost plush (he’s holding a pumpkin!) or Sammy the Spider. There’s even a light up jack-o’-lantern! Pottery Barn has truly outdone themselves this year with their Halloween pillow selection, and I’m tempted to snag the whole plushie gang, even though they’re admittedly on the pricer side. It’s an investment! But make sure to give Mr. Bones a home before he’s gone, because I bet he’ll sell out as October creeps closer.
