This “Plush” Towel Set Made My Bathroom Look 10x More Polished (It’s So Luxe)
I don’t consider myself to be a picky person, but I am extremely particular about my towels. In my view the best towels are soft (not scratchy) and absorbent, and they should also wash well and bring some semblance of style to my crusty outdated bathroom. I struggled to find towels that had all of the above; the softer ones just moved the water around on my skin instead of drying me off, and the more design-forward ones have been all style, no substance (they lose their brightness and fluff after washing). But then I tried the Peacock Alley Chelsea Plush Bath Towel Set.
The luxury linen brand makes some of AT editors’ favorite bedding — like the down alternative pillow our Lifestyle Editor, Lizzy Francis, swears by — and as it happens, they also make the softest, quickest-drying towels I’ve tried. So if you’re due to refresh your bath linens (there’s no better time than the new year), this towel set is the perfect upgrade.
What Is the Peacock Alley Chelsea Plush Towel Set?
Peacock Alley’s Chelsea Plush Towel Set includes two washcloths, two hand towels, and two bath towels. They’re all made in Portugal using 100% long-staple cotton with a zero twist (the cotton fibers aren’t twisted, which gives the towels a fluffy, lightweight feel). The 600 GSM (grams per square meter) towels are so cushy — like something you’d see in a luxury spa. Finished with a ribbed detail at the bottom, the six-piece set brings a fancy hotel look to any bathroom. They’re available in six neutral colors, and you can even add a custom monogram, starting at $24.
Why I Love the Peacock Alley Chelsea Plush Towel Set
Despite being well into my 30s, I’ve actually never owned a complete set of matching towels. So having the full suite of Chelsea Plush Towels in my bathroom makes me feel like an adult — and it helps my tiny, landlord-special bathroom look more polished and put-together, too. Most importantly, though, their bright white color has stayed pristine — even after repeat washes.
While I was expecting the Chelsea Plush towels to be soft, I wasn’t expecting them to be this soft. Not only are the bath towels the plushest I’ve tried, but wrapping myself up in their cotton coziness after a shower is also a total dream — especially during the winter months. My only gripe is I wish the bath towels were just a little bit larger, so I might have to grab the matching bath sheets next. But where other “soft” bath towels skimped on absorbency, these perform as promised; they effectively soak up remaining water droplets and dry me off (without leaving me damp or covered in shedded fibers, I might add).
What’s more, my bathroom doesn’t have a fan, which means it can take longer for towels to dry due to the poor air circulation. However, I’ve never had an issue with these Peacock Alley towels feeling damp from the previous night’s shower, which is a huge win. I hang mine on a towel bar, but I love that there’s a woven-in loop as another hanging option.
I offer the Peacock Alley Chelsea Plush Towels to overnight guests for the five-star treatment, and they get rave reviews every time. Which is why I couldn’t recommend them more if you’re looking to splurge on a premium starter set of towels (or give one as a housewarming gift). After all, why not start the new year with new towels?
