The $12 Gem I’m Buying from Michaels’ Holiday Collection Before It Sells Out
It may still be October, but mentally, I’ve already moved past Halloween and onto the winter holidays. It’s in no small part due to the fact that so many stores have already put out their seasonal collections. It’s impossible not to feel at least a little festive after taking in all of the new decor that’s out there. Plus, in my opinion, there’s no such thing as getting in the holiday spirit — and snagging some picture-perfect decorations — too early. After all, many brands have had their holiday items out for weeks. Even months, in some cases.
One brand that you shouldn’t overlook once you get started on your decor shopping? Michaels. It’s certainly more well-known for its crafting supplies, but anyone that makes routine trips to their local store could tell you that its home items — especially those of the holiday variety — are worth checking out. Not only are they absolutely adorable, but they’re also affordable. Both qualities apply to the brand’s peppermint-themed Christmas tree, which is bound to sell out before long. Read on to find out why it’s going straight into my cart!
What is the Pink, Red & White Peppermint Tree by Ashland?
In general, food-themed decor will always win me over — I’m obsessed with those viral food stools from HomeGoods like so many others on TikTok — so when I saw Michaels’ mini peppermint Christmas tree, I decided that I need it immediately. The “branches” look like layered pieces of ribbon candy, and in place of a star, the tree is topped by a classic round peppermint. The closer you look at it, the more stunning details you’ll notice, like the slight shimmer that makes its appearance even more whimsical. It would be a stunning centerpiece on a dining table or an accent piece on a mantel or entryway table.
What’s more, this find is also a score for those who love a great dupe. (Really, who doesn’t love a budget-friendly alternative?) This mini tree is a near-perfect match for a version from Williams Sonoma. The only major differences are in its color — Michaels’ option features pink stripes, while the other doesn’t — and price. While it’s on sale, Michaels’ is about four times cheaper than the other brand’s. If I wasn’t already sold, that would make it a must-have.
Once you snag this item, you can also fully lean into the food-themed decor trend with a few other products from Michaels’ holiday Sprinkle Shop. There are plenty of other pieces that look like sweet treats. (Another favorite of mine is this gumdrop ornament set.) If you weren’t sure what direction to take your festive decor before, Michaels has the answer. November will be here before you know it, so make sure to grab your decor now so you can make the most of the next couple of months!
