It’s not likely my cat will ever forget the day I unboxed our Apparis Brady blanket or forgive the postal service for the competition. The two of us have felt a lot of blankets over the years, lately while testing for the very best among them to recommending the winners to you all, and this is the only one he attempts to hide — by my guess, for fear of being replaced. I’ve walked in on the blanket in motion several times, being slowly tugged off and under the sofa, into the deepest, darkest corner. I love you, Louie, but this Apparis blanket is officially the softest thing in my home.

Outerwear label Apparis, frankly, began as any other brand on my list to test out — until it completely rocked my world. Now, when it comes to indisputable, unadulterated softness, Apparis blankets are it for me. I tried the Brady blanket, which is the perfect size to use as a decorative throw that’s also impossible to resist wrapping up in entirely whenever it’s near. The Jumbo Shiloh is the California king size of the collection, measuring 60 inches by 80 inches. The sizes level down from there, from the Shiloh to the Jumbo Brady, then the Brady followed by the travel- and kid-friendly Mini Brady. Whatever room, situation, or person you’re shopping for, Apparis has the perfect size for the job.

Not only is there a wide range of sizes, but each size is available in a selection of unique hues, from intensely pigmented to beautifully neutral. It’s as though each thread in an Apparis blanket is individually and painstakingly dyed before construction, resulting in the unparalleled vibrancy of brights like Bubble Pink and Stone Blue. This also yields whites, browns, and blacks like Latte or Noir, which are completely opaque with seemingly endless depth. So inviting.

The brand’s patented Pluche material is perfectly uniform and faux fur-esque. Astoundingly, it’s made from 100 percent polyester. I know, but stay with me. It’s totally cruelty-free (not counting the damage to my cat’s psyche) and the only material that can achieve the softness, durability, and longevity that Apparis is all about. This also means it’s seriously easy to clean. Because of the thickness and dimensions of most Apparis blankets as well as the vibrant colors, they’re understandably dry clean only, but spot cleaning as necessary with a damp towel or mild detergent takes virtually no effort and stains seem to slide right off the threads.

There’s even better news. Since Apparis is an outerwear-first brand, you can shop their coats and wear what’s bound to be your favorite blanket even when you leave the house without looking like someone people should worry about. While Apparis blankets are late to make it onto my holiday wishlist, it’s never too late for a PSA: This is the one blanket I’d want to receive, the one I’d gift myself a hundred of if I could, and the one I intend to give in 2022. But if you’re like us and twenty-twenty-done already with subpar cozies, consider this an early gift to you: Apartment Therapy readers get 15 percent off their purchase with code APTTHERAPY at checkout until January 31, just in time for the winter hibernation stock up. And for the next two days, Apparis is also offering 15 percent off of gift cards as a last minute gifting special. And nothing says you can’t be gifting yourself.
