It’s so dreamy.

“I think the most unique aspect of our home is how we've managed to create storage spaces that are discreet and unobtrusive,” writes Alan of his small, renovated apartment in Barcelona.

Each time, sound musician Jackie Cantwell has transformed small rental apartments with color, cool vibes, and style.

Justine added removable peel-and-stick tile backsplash, changed out handles and outlet covers, and installed new overhead light fixtures to transform this 600-square-foot rental.

"I wanted to give my own modern spin on a classic Victorian SF style," writes renter Juliana. "Each room is meant to have a rich color that stands out on its own, but speaks to the other rooms in the house."

"Every corner of the apartment has something tucked under or inside it to reduce clutter and free up visual space," Sarah shares.

Gunn enjoys the challenge of maximizing a small space. For example, the space doesn’t have a kitchen, but Gunn’s set up a movable cart for warming food and making drinks. “It’s just enough for what I need,” he shares.

Amber Sherman has filled her home with all of her favorite things: “Pastels, carousels, candy, rainbows, carnivals, fairs, unicorns, fairies, nature, Alice in Wonderland, cats, rubber-faced vintage plushies, circuses, and iridescent anything!”

To bring in personality and charm to this rental, Sonja used “a lot of color, paint, art, and features that can be removed if/when needed ... so basically nothing can be a permanent change.”

Railroad apartments definitely come with some floor-plan challenges.
