This Weekend: Contend With (& Conquer) Your Bathroom Storage
Some storage spots are easier to ignore than others which means house clutter tends to accumulate and linger there far longer than it should. We give those spots the side eye (and ourselves a mental reprimand) every time we walk by, but we often need a nudge to actually deal with the trouble spot. Consider this post a friendly little prod in the direction of your bathroom sink, and all the stuff currently hiding beneath it.
This Weekend’s Assignment: Clean and organize under your bathroom sink!
Note: If your bathroom doesn’t have under-sink storage, you’re not off the hook! Tackle whatever alternative problem storage area you have in your bathroom such as a closet or shelves — wherever your bathroom clutter tends to pile up.
Clean: Tackle any drawers, cabinets, shelves, baskets and bins in your sink vanity, one by one. Take everything out, then clean out any dirt and grime (I like to use a vacuum with a brush attachment first and then clean with a damp sponge). Toss or recycle any almost-empty or used up containers, along with any expired health and beauty products, and the things you no longer use. Put items that don’t belong under there in their proper place elsewhere in the house, or discard them altogether.
→Organize: After the big cleaning and purging session, put your organizing hat on! Return your “keepers” back to their spots in an organized manner. And if needed, bring in some organizers and accessories to help maximize the space.
