I Just Found the Smartest Shoe Storage Solution for My Entryway (It’s Collapsible!)
Until I moved into my latest apartment, I never really had an entryway — my front door would open right into the kitchen or living room. I was never the biggest fan of that setup, which is why one of the main selling points of my current studio was its long entry hallway. I know that some people see them as a waste of space, but for me the hallway creates some much-needed separation in my single-room apartment. And I’ve made the most of it with wall hooks and an ultra-narrow shoe cabinet.
The cabinet has worked wonders in decluttering shoes from my entryway, but there are still a few stragglers that end up on the floor. The space is so narrow that even a few pairs of shoes overwhelm it, so I’ve been debating whether I should add another shoe rack into the mix. And I think I finally found the perfect one at QVC: It’s collapsible, has great reviews, looks sleek, and, unlike most shoe racks, has an extra tier. What’s more, you can easily turn it into a pantry shelving unit or side table, too!
What Is the Pop-It 3-Tier Standing Shoe Shelf?
This might just be the most versatile shoe rack that I’ve ever seen. First off, you can decide whether or not to use the third tier, depending on the height of your shoes. As someone who owns quite a few knee-high boots, that feature is a huge bonus in my eyes. If you want the additional storage, there are two different levels you can choose between for the middle shelf. The top and bottom levels support up to 40 pounds and measure almost 40 inches long — which means they can hold quite a few shoes — and the extra shelf’s capacity is 22 pounds. Height-wise, it hits just over 20 inches.
I see this stylish shoe rack as a way to deal with entryway clutter, but it can easily transform the bottom of a closet — or you can use it for a different purpose entirely. I don’t think it would look out of place as a cookware organizer in the kitchen, or if you need more shelving in your pantry it’d definitely do the trick. You could also turn it into a side table in your living room, thanks to its minimalist design. If you place it next to a deep sofa or sectional, you can store plants, blankets, books, and more on the roomy shelves.
Oh, and I’d be remiss not to call out the best part: This shoe rack collapses nearly flat! If you host a lot of get-togethers and don’t need to keep it out in the open full-time, you can keep it tucked away in a closet — where it’ll hardly take up any space — and bring it out for your guests to use. You don’t have to bother with assembly at any point, either. It’s as easy as unfolding it and securing it with a latch!
