I’ve tested a lot of pillows during my time at Apartment Therapy Media, but the one that has truly been a game-changer in my life is Quince’s Premium Down Alternative Pillow. I discovered it three years ago, after trying to find a similar version of a hotel pillow that I had fallen in love with. The Quince pillow turned out to be a near-perfect match, giving me the same dreamy sleep quality I experienced during my hotel stay. Needless to say, I was smitten, and I’ve since sung its praises to countless friends, colleagues, and family members as being one the best budget-friendly pillows you can buy (it’s $40!). I’m clearly not the only fan of Quince’s Premium Down Alternative Pillow, because it’s constantly selling out. But the good news is that it’s back in stock right now, and, trust me, you should snag it ASAP.

What Is the Quince Down Alternative Pillow?

The Soft/Medium pillow is luxuriously soft and a bit squishy. When I rest my head on it, it feels like my head is sinking into a light, fluffy cloud. Quince’s Medium/Firm pillow is exactly what it sounds like: A pillow that is just a bit more firm and gives my head a little more support. When I pair them together, with the more firm pillow on the bottom and the softer pillow on top, it’s exactly the combination I need for the perfect night’s sleep. My head is at just the right height because of the Medium/Firm pillow, and nestled in comfort by the Soft/Medium pillow.

Why I Love the Quince Down Alternative Pillow

Before Quince, I tried numerous pillows that had me waking up throughout the night, punching and adjusting them because they were too firm, too high, too flat, or too soft. But that stopped once I made the switch. I always use two pillows for sleeping, so I own two standard-size Quince Premium Down Alternative Pillows, each in different densities: Soft/Medium and Medium/Firm (the pillows also come in King size and Firm/Extra Firm).

If you’re looking for a luxury hotel-quality pillow on a budget, don’t snooze on Quince (it’s one of our favorite brands for all things bedding!). But be sure to snag your pillows ASAP, before they sell out again!
