Trader Joe’s Is Selling a Limited-Edition Summer Favorite for Just $4

If you’re looking for an inexpensive new addition to add a little brightness and fun to your scent rotation alongside your classic lavender candles and your coffee candles, I’d recommend you get to a Trader Joe’s ASAP. Back for a limited time only, the fan-favorite retailer is selling its seasonal classic Mango Tangerine candle for just $3.99, and shoppers are thrilled about it.

Update: On June 27, Trader Joe’s issued a nationwide recall on its mango tangerine candle. According to an announcement from Trader Joe’s, the candle flame can spread from the wick to the wax, producing a larger than expected flame. The company urges you not to burn the candle and either dispose of it or return it to the store for a full refund.

TikTok content creator Talia (@traderjoestalia) highlighted the find as part of a June 13 video rounding up new and returning items at Trader Joe’s.

“Their candles are great,” she said while panning over the mango tangerine candle. “They’re only $4, and they get a bunch of seasonal scents throughout the year.”

According to the candle’s packaging, the 5.7-ounce hand-poured candle is made from natural coconut soy wax blend, mixed with sweet fragrance, and topped off with a lead-free cotton wick. And here’s a quick Trader Joe’s history lesson for anyone who’s not familiar: The Mango Tangerine candle is actually one of the first-ever scented candles that the store ever introduced!

The official Trader Joe’s product description describes the candle as a “truly tropical treat,” and it’s only available for a limited time. 

“With the flick of a match, you’ll swear you’re relaxing in paradise, enjoying a citrusy summer breeze,” the description says. And really, what more could you ask of a summer candle?

If you’re the kind of person who likes to match your hand-soap scents to your candle scents — and honestly, I love that for you — you’re in luck. Trader Joe’s is also selling a similar peach mango-scented foaming hand soap, which you can snag for $2.99 apiece.

But if you’re actually not a citrus person, you don’t have to sit this season out. You can still enjoy one of Trader Joe’s low-cost tin candles: Right now, the grocery chain’s famed Salted Caramel & Pistachio candle is back in stock.
