Even amid all of the Presidents’ Day sales going on at the moment, I’ve been holding out for a select few retailers to finally launch their deals. One of them is West Elm, whose own sale is now live, with discounts of up to 60% off across all product categories. I’ve tested my fair share of West Elm furniture and decor for AT’s Personal Shopper series, and I can confirm that the pieces are every bit as beautiful in person as they are in pictures, and they hold up well over time, too.

In looking at the countless markdowns, I saw so many furniture and storage pieces that would make wonderful additions to small homes. You can see my top picks below, along with a couple of decor finds that’ll instantly transform your space for less. It can be hard to find such well-made furniture at a discount, so be sure to get all of your shopping done this holiday weekend and make your apartment look beautiful for the rest of the new year (and beyond).

Not only did this curved sofa win a spot on our Design Awards list, but contributor Sarah also considers it to be the perfect style for her small living room. “The sofa features a chic, low-profile bat wing back that gently curves at its ends — a silhouette that feels minimalist but not too modern in style,” her review reads. “It complements my eclectic, vintage decor perfectly.” Snag the Mella on sale in either a stunning velvet or cozy bouclé fabric.

$349

Don’t underestimate the power of a good rug when it comes to making your space look bigger and tying all of your furniture together. The Ivy rug is great because its pattern is eye-catching but not too loud, so it adds visual interest without overwhelming the surrounding area. Score it for less in either a beige or mustard color, and delight in its soft but sturdy wool construction.
