Name: Victoria, Nikolai and Maya Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands Size: 1,230 square feet Years lived in: Owned for 1 year Nikolai and Victoria met during their last year in university and moved around Amsterdam quite a bit until they settled down in this lovely two-floor apartment. After renting five apartments over the last 10 years they felt ready to buy their own place.

Name: Driss and Bettina daughters Tala (6) and Ziri (4) Location: Amsterdam (Spiegelkwartier), Netherlands Size: 2,400 square feet Years lived in: 5 years, owned Driss and Bettina, originally from Morocco and Germany, met (and fell in love) in Amsterdam at a small, creative advertising agency where they worked. Splashes of color to balance out the white floor and walls, placement of beautiful furniture, and special handcrafted accents are just a part of the unique beauty of this home.

I’ve always admired Johanna’s ability to hone in on the little things.

The two purchased this four-story abode five years ago and renovated the whole structure from top to bottom. A truly bittersweet tour for me – walking around Megan and Mike’s lovely home knowing that boxes waited in the other room ready to pack up everything and officially close their Amsterdam chapter – made this a sad day, but a happy one knowing we shared some nice memories in this canal-side flat.

Name: Sri Kettelhake Location: Amsterdam, The Netherlands Size: 1,600 square feet Years lived in: 2 years; owned Born and raised in the Netherlands, Sri is an Amsterdam native who has lived in major cities like Sydney and London. She worked in advertising for many years up until having her first child. Her husband Nick is in the same industry, and because they both know how many hours their work requires, for now, Sri has decided to stay home to care for their lovely son Samuel.
